Zefal have been manufacturing bicycle accessories for over 100 years and with the invention of the tube they developed the Presta Valve (also known as the French Valve) and began to design and make bicycle pumps. Over the years Zefal has been on the leading edge of pump design and technology and can be credit with many of the advancements in that area, including the invention of the direct connection with thumb-lock lever and reversible washer to adapt to any valve.

In the 1980’s Zefal became the largest manufacturer of pumps in the world with more than 10 million per year, it was at this time Zefal began to widen their product catalogue with innovative ranges of Mudguards, Water bottles, and other accessories.
