In 1997 folks who spend a lot of time outdoors started Showers Pass Clothing. They ride for sport and transportation, white-water kayak, and Nordic ski. They also have extensive experience mountain climbing and backpacking too. They expect their gear to perform as advertised and last for several seasons of heavy use.
Showers Pass is in the USA, in the mountains about 30 kilometres inland from Eureka, CA. In this part of California the weather is highly variable because the coast is exposed to storms from the North Pacific. The roads near Showers Pass offer great riding, but if you go, you better be prepared. They've had some great rides out there but have also been caught out in some wicked rainstorms without adequate gear. After one wet winter ride they decided that they needed a better riding jacket and Showers Pass jackets were born.
