Zefal have been manufacturing bicycle accessories for over 100 years and with the invention of the inner tube they developed the Presta Valve (also known as the French Valve) and began to design and make bicycle pumps.

Over the years Zefal has been on the leading edge of pump design and technology and can be credited with many of the advancements in that area, including the invention of the direct connection with thumb-lock lever and reversible washer to adapt to any valve.
