The compression-less brake casing is made with aluminium strands, rather than steel, and is over-wrapped with Kevlar. This helps keeps weight to a minimum. The Kevlar overwrap with the compressionless core offers improved flexibility and less cable drag.

The aluminium and Kevlar layers cover an inert PVC liner, meaning you can lubricate the inner wire with grease or oil, further decreasing friction on the lever.
